Who can use Joe’s Space services?
While our services are open to everyone regardless of protected class, we have a mission to uplift those from historically disadvantaged groups. These include but are not limited to;
Racial and Ethnic Minorities
- Black or African American
- Hispanic, Latino/a/x, or Indigenous Peoples
- Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, or North African communities
- Other groups disproportionately affected by systemic racism
LGBTQIA+ Community
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Non-Binary individuals
Religious Minorities
- Those facing discrimination due to their faith, including Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, and other minority religious communities
People with Disabilities
- Individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities
- Neurodivergent individuals (e.g., those with autism, ADHD)
Socioeconomic Challenges
- Low-income individuals and families

Is this therapy or mental health treatment?
No, this is not therapy, and our counselors are not licensed mental health professionals. This is not a substitute for mental health treatment or therapy. This is an emotional support and educational service.
What happens if I cancel within 24h or no-show?
For late cancellations, you will not be allowed to book a session for 6 months. If you can provide proof of a documented emergency, this can be reevaluated on a case by case basis.
What types of support are offered?
We teach coping skills in areas such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal skills in a non-clinical, education based setting.
